We work safe –
or not at all.

Mainka specializes in construction projects in safety-critical industries such as chemicals, energy, and logistics. With clear processes, trained personnel, and a safety culture that is put into practice, our accident rate is a fraction of the average for the construction industry.

Structural Works for WBW4 / SGA1 (Hot Strip Mill / Continuous Casting Plant)

For our client thyssenkrupp, we carried out the construction of the WBW4 and SGA1 structures — a project with exceptionally high technical requirements.
Key challenges included the structural underpinning using DSM columns, the use of heavy‑duty support scaffolding with a load capacity of over 1,000 tonnes, and construction during ongoing operations.

In addition, we executed extensive concrete and structural engineering works, reinforced‑concrete construction, road construction and specialist foundation engineering with pile foundations.
The combination of complex structural requirements, precise execution planning and on‑schedule delivery makes this project a true milestone.

Figures and facts:

  • Structural underpinning using DSM columns
  • Heavy‑duty support scaffolding (> 1,000 t load capacity)
  • Construction during ongoing operations
  • Concrete and structural engineering
  • Road construction works
  • Reinforced‑concrete construction
  • Specialist foundation engineering
  • Pile foundations
